Oh Hello!

If you haven’t guessed already…my name is Rose.

I’m a photographer based on the Eyre Peninsular and I’m a lover of laughter, the ocean and moments spent with the ones I love…oh and food. I really love food.

After many years of walking this life with a camera in hand I finally decided to turn my hobby into a career. Now I get to spend my days as a freelance photographer, surrounded by beautiful families, loved up couples and wonderful small businesses owners!

My photography style is fun, genuine and intimate. I want you to think of your photo session with me as a time to play and connect with your loved ones; laughing out loud, holding each other tight and being completely present in the moment. I will chime in with just the right amount of direction, when needed.

At our session I ask you to let go of expectations. Be it a couples shoot or a family session; all I ask is for you to be completely present with your loved ones. Play with them, cuddle and laugh, run and be silly. Connect in whatever way feels natural to you so we can capture those wonderful candid moments for you to cherish for a lifetime.

As a child I was fortunate enough to be raised on the rugged Kangaroo Island by my diversely artistic family. I grew up on a sprawling sheep and cropping farm surrounded by native bush, creek lines and wide open sky’s. As children we were always encouraged to roam free. To create, to dream and ultimately get our hands dirty!!

Some of my favourite memories are of playing in our 100yr old mulberry tree and ending up with completely red hair and skin.

Mud sliding in our creek line, coming home dripping with stinky black sludge and mum hosing us off before being let back inside.

Christmases spent sewing with my Aunty then playing dress ups with he cousins…always ending in a performance for the parents!

Hunting and gathering crayfish, abalone and blue swimmer crabs every summer. Ending the day over a shared feast with family and friends.

Life was always about family, friends and adventures on our beautiful island home.

As a teenager I moved off Island to study and travel. After studying Fashion Design in Adelaide and then a Batchelor of Photography in Melbourne I ended up living between Europe and Australia for over three years. I continued to practice as a part time freelance photographer throughout this period. Whilst living in cities and foreign countries my heart always ached for a simpler life and a deeper connection to the land, community and nature. Finally fate drew me back in 2017 and I settled in the small seaside town of Streaky Bay.

It was there that I met on seriously incredible man who I am now lucky enough to call my partner. Together we divide our time between Streaky Bay and his family farm in Penong.

So here we are today. I get to do what I love every single day. I still pinch myself. I feel so deeply lucky that you choose me to capture your most precious moments and cherished memories. What a privilege.

Who knows what the next chapter holds, but for now I’m pretty bloody happy doing this life, in this beautiful community.
